Jane Boggess graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Theater Arts from Nebraska Wesleyan University.  From there, she became a costume shop intern at the Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis MN. She began her professional career at the Guthrie doing wardrobe in house and was Wardrobe Supervisor on the national tour of “Great Expectations.” From there, she went to the Folger Shakespeare Theater in Washington DC (now the Shakespeare Theater Company) as Head Craftsperson/Dyer. She moved on to Broadway and worked as  a color expert at 20/20 Colorists, working on such shows as The Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables, Cats, Will Rogers Follies and many more as well as numerous NYC Operas and Ballets.  In 1990 Jane moved to San Francisco. She has worked at all of the major theaters in the Bay Area, including Berkeley Repertory Theater, California Shakespeare Theater, and America Conservatory Theater (ACT), where she spent 17 years as Assistant Costume Shop Manager and Costume Crafts Supervisor. At ACT she worked on such shows as Angels In America , Good (with William Hurt), and Oleanna among dozens of productions. In 2000, she worked on the premier of Sam Shepard’s The Late Henry Moss, featuring James Gammon, Sheila Tousey, Nick Nolte, Sean Penn, Cheech Marin, Woody Harrelson Rod Gnapp and Denis Ludlow, at the Magic Theater in San Francisco.

During her career, Jane has worked with Tony Award and other award winning designers Bob Mackie, Ann Hould Ward, Colleen Atwood, Martin Pakladinaz, Christian Lacroix, Theoni Aldredge, Willa Kim, William Ivey Long, Patricia Zipprodt, Maria Bjornson, Jane Greenwood, Santo Loquasto, Catherine Zuber, Susan Hilferty, Jess Goldstein, Beni  Montresor, John Napier, Bob Crowley , Deborah Nadoolman Landis, Beaver Bauer,  Meg Neville (UCB Alum,) Judith Dolan (UCSD) Raquel Barreto (UCB Alum), Lydia Tanji, and B. Modern, David Draper, Callie Floor and Robert Blackman.
