About: 

Patrick Russell is a professional actor and director whose work has been seen in theaters across the Bay Area. Most recent acting credits include Noises Off at San Francisco Playhouse, As You Like It for Cal Shakes, Measure for Measure at Marin Shakespeare Company, and the revival of Fool for Love at Magic Theatre. His work has been recognized with nominations from both the Bay Area Theatre Critics Circle and Theatre Bay Area. Other productions include King Charles III, Once in a Lifetime, A Christmas Carol (ACT), Frost/Nixon (TheatreWorks), A Bright New Boise, Wilder Times, Body Awareness, Trouble in Mind, Awake and Sing! (Aurora Theatre Company), Red Velvet, Seminar, reasons to be pretty, and the world premieres of 77% and Trouble Cometh (San Francisco Playhouse), the west coast premiere of The Other Place (Magic Theatre), Othello (Marin Theatre Company), Spamalot, Love’s Labour’s Lost, The Three Musketeers, The Comedy of Errors (Marin Shakespeare Company), Old Wicked Songs (CenterREP), and Care of Trees (Shotgun Players). Directing credits include The Arsonists (UC Berkeley), Synesthesium (Oregon Fringe Festival) and All My Sons (Role Players Ensemble). Film credits include the feature film Being Us, the web series SanFranLand, short films The Secret Life of a Hotel Room and We Were Awesome, and the award-winning animated short film Rapunzel’s Etymology of Zero. His voice-over work can be heard in numerous radio and Internet ads.

As an educator, Patrick also teaches in American Conservatory Theater’s Summer Training Congress and San Francisco Semester and has taught workshops at universities across the country as a recruiter and representative for ACT’s training programs. Patrick has also taught for California Shakespeare Theater, Academy of Art University, Berkeley Repertory Theatre, and most recently, served as the head of movement for Southern Oregon University’s B.F.A. in acting program. He is also the co-founder of The Actors Space SF, a part-time professional actor training and performance center located in San Francisco. Patrick is a member of Actors’ Equity and SAG-AFTRA. He holds a B.F.A. in acting from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and is a graduate of American Conservatory Theater’s Master of Fine Arts in acting program.
