Acting in theater from an early age, I soon realized that studying theater would be a lifelong passion. My educational trajectory took a very long break, over a decade, before I decided to return to school and complete an undergraduate degree in Theater and Performance Studies. Choosing Cal fulfilled a lifelong dream to attend this prestigious school and to enrich my understanding of many types of performance and theory surrounding the subject. I am happy to speak about my experience as a QPOC emerging artist, actor, and director as well as the challenges and opportunities as a TDPS major at Cal. I have a background in advocacy surrounding many communities including the LGTBQIA+, Undocumented, and Mixed status migrant communities, as well as volunteering with organizations that support grassroots community efforts.
