Position Summary: The Director of Marketing & Communications in the Department of Theater, Dance, and Performance Studies is responsible for highlighting and promoting awareness of all departmental programming, including events, performances, showcases, classes, and other departmental initiatives and activities. This visibility is achieved via website and social media presence, a newsletter, specific outreach pieces, and other communications efforts generated by this position. This position additionally coordinates with the Arts and Humanities development staff and the Chair on fundraising activities in the department by creating communications content and engaging in fundraising strategy and planning.

Lead Costume Shop Technician
Department/Division: Theater, Dance, and Performance Studies / College of Letters & Science - Arts & Humanities
Position Summary: Under the general supervision of the Costume Director, the Lead Costume Shop Technician will plan and supervise the technical aspects of simultaneous productions as related to costumes, costume properties, and hair/wigs/make-up. Fabricate costumes for all Department productions with the support of one part time Costume Curator/Wardrobe Supervisor and 4-5 work study students. Coordinate, supervise, and assign tasks to student technicians during build process and technical rehearsals/production process, and perform other related duties.

Assistant Professor – Dance
Department/Division: Theater, Dance, and Performance Studies / College of Letters & Science - Arts & Humanities
Position Summary: The Department of Theater, Dance, and Performance Studies at the University of California, Berkeley seeks applications for a full-time tenure-track faculty position in the area of Dance practice, performance, choreography, and scholarship.
Responsibilities will include pursuing a professional creative/research agenda; teaching courses at the undergraduate, and occasionally the graduate, level in the department’s dance technique, choreography, practice, performance, and dance and performance studies curricula; directing undergraduate concerts; mentoring and advising undergraduate and graduate students; and participating in departmental activities and administrative service at college and campus levels.
Salary & Benefits: The current salary range for this position is $80,800-$128,700. (9-month academic year salary). However, off-scale salary and other components of pay, which would yield compensation than is higher than this range, are offered to meet competitive conditions.
