Michelle Summers earned her Ph.D. in Critical Dance Studies from the University of California, Riverside and her M.A. in Performance Studies from New York University. Her research interests reside at the intersections of dance, religion, performance studies, and critical race feminism. She has taught dance studies, ballet/modern dance, and writing courses at Santa Clara University, UC Riverside, and Texas Christian University. Summers is also currently on faculty at the Center for Art and Religion at the Graduate Theological Union.
