Melissa Schultz joined TDPS in 2014 and moved into the role of Director of Communications and Development in 2015. She is responsible for increasing the department’s visibility and developing its audience and support base through effective communication of the mission and programming. She oversees communication, development, marketing and public relations, graphic design, audience services, and the box office, and also lends support to event planning and implementation.
Before coming to TDPS, Melissa worked at Chicago Shakespeare Theater, where she managed a diverse portfolio of projects that encompassed producing, development, grant writing, marketing, social media management and more, before moving into the position of Capital Campaign Associate. She also worked in arts management at Seattle Repertory Theatre and the Springfield Regional Arts Council in Springfield, Missouri. Melissa holds an MFA in Arts Leadership from DePaul University and a BFA in Acting from Missouri State University.
