A graduate of UC Berkeley’s Theater, Dance, and Performance Studies program, Maura Tang went on to receive her MFA in Acting at the University of Washington, Professional Actor’s Training Program. Extensive training in Stanislavski System, Alexander Technique, Kristin Linklater’s vocal technique, Viewpoints of Anne Bogart, Suzuki Method of Actor Training, Clown, Stage Combat, and multiple dance styles. She has taught acting, voice, and dance in the greater bay area at Skyline Community College, St. Mary’s College, Berkeley Playhouse, New Conservatory Theater, and the Performing Arts Academy of Marin. Maura is a proud company member of Brickabrack, a community-engaged, award-winning company with a strong focus on audience engagement, creating new works out of Oakland. She has collaborated as a writer, actress, choreographer and director with Brickabrack on three new productions over the past two years. Over the years she has had the pleasure of performing at the Berkeley Repertory Theater, the Guthrie Theater, the Jones Playhouse, Berkeley Playhouse, Lamplighter’s Music Theater, Bay Area Children’s Theater, Book-it Repertory Theater and of course, Zellerbach Playhouse.
