Francine Landes

Francine Landes earned her B.F.A. from The Juilliard School in New York City and an M.A. from Columbia University. She has been teaching, directing, and choreographing throughout Europe, Australia, Canada, and the United States. She has worked and performed in film, television, for the New York Shakespeare Festival, the Stratford Festival of Canada, the Victorian College of the Arts in Melbourne Australia, PBS, Accademia Nazionale d’Arte Drammatica in Rome, Italy, and the San Francisco Opera Company. Landes has been teaching Acting, Character Embodiment, Movement for Actors, and Acting for Animators to students all over the world. Currently, she is a faculty member at University of California, Berkeley, The Academy of Art University and The American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.). She was for many years a Core faculty member for the M.F.A. Program and artistic staff for the company at the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco.  Her performance career includes playing in the original Broadway cast of The Mystery of Edwin Drood (Tony Award) and in the role of Eve in Martha Clarke’s The Garden of Earthy Delights (Drama Desk and Obie Awards).  Landes has taught on the faculties of Princeton, Columbia, and Wesleyan Universities.  Ms. Landes is a Guild Certified Feldenkrais Practitioner (FGNA) and is a member of SAG/AFTRA, and AEA.
