Erika Johnson comes to TDPS with a performing arts background in grant writing, fundraising, and arts outreach. She raises public and campus awareness of TDPS programs through communications, press, and development materials. She coordinates special events that deepen the department’s connection with its supporters – its vital alumni, donors, and audiences. She is passionate about telling the stories of the TDPS students and faculty who are making an impact through their creative voices.
Previously, Erika worked at ODC/Dance, San Francisco Dance Film Festival, and Diablo Ballet where she was responsible for institutional giving, communications, and arts education. She was a dancer with the Houston Ballet where she worked with Paul Taylor, Trey McIntyre, and Christopher Bruce. Locally, she joined Diablo Ballet where she performed work by KT Nelson, Christopher Stowell, and Julia Adam. Erika holds a B.A. from the Liberal Education for Arts Professionals program at Saint Mary’s College.
