LURA DOLASLURA DOLAS, Lecturer
(Acting): M.A. Antioch International in conjunction with the London Drama Studio and the American Conservatory Theatre. Acting. Professional experience includes leading roles with the California, Oregon, San Francisco, and Santa Fe Shakespeare Festivals, The Empty Space Theater of Seattle, Sacramento Theater Company, Theater Emory of Atlanta, the Pacific Conservatory for the Performing Arts, Ensemble Theater Company of Santa Barbara and Aurora Theater in Berkeley. Most recent credits include a one-woman show on Carlotta Monterey O’Neill, produced by the O’Neill Foundation, and Queen Atossa in The Persians at the Aurora Theater in Berkeley for which she received a San Francisco Critic’s Circle Award Nomination. She formerly taught and directed student productions at the Boston University Theater Institute, the American Conservatory Theater, California Shakespeare Festival, Mills College and the California Institute of the Arts in Los Angeles. She was the founding director of the California Shakespeare Festival Conservatory and currently teaches for the Berkeley Repertory School of Theater. Commercial work includes television and radio spots as well as print and voice-over work. Recent TDPS directing credits include Caucasian Chalk Circle and The Cradle Will Rock for which she was awarded a Consortium for the Arts grant.
