A dynamic two-evening event featuring live performances, lectures and discussions exploring the ways sex in relation to race, gender and social class shape lived experience. Featuring artists and scholars on the cutting edge of performance/research, including Jennifer Doyle (UC Riverside), Juana María Rodríguez (Chair of Gender & Women’s Studies, Berkeley), artist and filmmaker Wu Tsang, and burlesque performance artist Xandra Ibarra (AKA La Chica Boom).

Post-screening discussion with the artists led by Raquel Gutierrez (Yerba Buena Center for the Arts)

March 6th, 5pm
• Public conversation between Jennifer Doyle (UC Riverside) & Juana María Rodríguez (UC Berkeley)
• Closing roundtable discussion with Wu Tsang, Xandra Ibarra, Jennifer Doyle, and Juana Rodríguez

Note: In honor of the recent loss of José Esteban Muñoz, panelists will offer reflections on the influence of his work to the program’s theme.
